Introduction
I am a highly motivated and high energy independent consultant/contractor who specializes in the areas of regulatory and reliability engineering (Including electrical and mechanical design) for product certifications in global markets. I have over 40 years of experience in the following engineering disciplines:
- Electrical design
- Mechanical design
- System Design
- Regulatory engineering
- Reliability engineering
- System engineering
- Product Safety

- Certifications in ASIA including China (In country Testing)
- South and Central America
- Global Product safety-IEC62368/IEC60950/IEC60601-1 (Medical)
Reliability engineering
- Theoretical failure rate estimates (FIT rates) based on SR332
- HALT Testing
- Accelerated life predictions and testing
- HASS Testing
- Detailed hardware design reviews focused on compliance engineering
- In depth Layout reviews from a high-speed perspective- grounding, controlled impedance environments etc.
- Root cause analysis
- Signal integrity analysis
Many of my clients have engaged with me to utilize my reliability engineering background to confirm that their equipment is highly reliable, meets product life requirements, is dependable and user friendly to ensure an exceptional positive customer experience. High QoS, Quality of service and QoE, Quality of experience.
The reliability process that is normally followed is:
- Determination of the theoretical failure rate (FIT RATE based on temperature and confidence level).
- Perform accelerated life testing using industry accepted thermal cycling models to confirm a product meets the life requirements and to confirm theoretical FIT rates.
- Perform HALT testing (Optional) to identify design weaknesses.
- Perform in-depth root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and provide mitigation guidance to enhance product reliability.
- Long term tracking of field returns and analyzing the data to identify failure trends.
- Test Labs for formal certifications and reliability engineering
In order to achieve regulatory certifications and to perform HASS/HALT testing it is necessary to engage with fully accredited third party labs. (Refer to the list of labs below)

How To Get Started
It is normal standard of practice for me to enter into a non disclosure agreement with my clients to guarantee confidentiality of your proprietary information prior to having any detailed discussions.
I offer a wide variety of consulting options including but not limited to:
The first two introductory meetings are at no cost to my clients. I want to ensure that my perspective clients are comfortable with working with me and for me to confirm that my skill set aligns with the task(s) requested to ensure that I provide my clients with exemplary results.
Common Program Categories
- Short term project-<1week-4 weeks
- Medium term projects-1month to 6 months
- Longer term projects- 1yr plus.
- Fixed project pricing is available.
If my clients wish to engage in a different manner, I will adapt to meet my customers needs.
I run a very lean business with minimal overhead therefore I provide my clients with extremely competitive hourly rates.
I look forward to hearing from you and to have the opportunity to join your team to help you meet your business objectives!
